This is one of the most natural and beautiful exhibits in SL11B. This little parcel features lovely  lily pad ponds, lovely decor, and a little tea house with male and female seating inside. The creators behind it did a wonderful job at making it so beautiful. 

As you can see from these unedited landscape shots, the grounds are spacious and almost like a genuine Geisha House. The Geisha Mothers often prefer closed, walled spaced to keep their girls safe. I once watched a documentary on the dedication and loyalty these women give to the geisha mother. Their payment is in the enjoyment of service, lovely gowns, parties, and their living expenses paid for. They do not profit monetarily in a traditional geisha house. Though ancient tradition once allowed Geisha Mothers to auction off the virginity of geisha who had come of age, this practice is no longer legal and highly frowned upon. They remain celibate throughout their time as a geisha and only service business men and women in the arts of dance, drinking games, and companionship. This is just what little knowledge I know of them from a documentary I once watched on romance and love in different cultures. 

Many geisha, when they get older, do retire and on occasion marry, but the amount of dedication they give to this culture can also go on for life. Many older geisha become Geisha Mothers; they teach young women in the way of the geisha and handle the business side of things behind the scenes. 

My pictures, however, are not an authentic representation of geisha. The dress is actually a Han, and basically Chinese. However, the makeup, gettas, and decor are Japanese. I also took a little bit of my Asian heritage into the pictures I created. My grandmother is Vietnamese, my father is half, and I am a quarter. She has some beautiful portraits on very fine paper in her room. I decided to take this chance to try to recreate the heritage I have grown up with all my life. So this is a combination of many Asian cultures, not just one.

I do hope you continue to enjoy these posts as I cover the SL11B exhibits in my posts. I am very happy to be one of the Press and have been enjoying taking pictures. Even though I have been fighting lag and crowds, I'm still finding very beautiful and peaceful places to take pictures at on these 11 sims. 

I hope to be able to complete the hunt soon -- though I admit I have been swarmed with both Naughty Niche Fair items and Manga Fair items. These two events begin on July 1st and I will be participating in both of them. I'm still not sure how exactly I shall combine naughty and nice together to form looks, but keep an eye out on the blog. My schedule may have me posting every day this week.
