It's time to get into the Sugar Rush and get on over to Level Up. This gaming themed quarterly event is new on the grid and absolutely fantastic and fun. I went through and blasted through practically all my lindens getting these cute and adorable Level Up items at the event. You can't miss them. 

This is also a contest entry for Hair Fair 2014. I decided to be inspired by Shut up and Drive by Rihanna which is featured in the movie Wreck it Ralph. This car and items completely go with the theme of the movie. Hair Fair 2014 is an event dedicated to Wigs for Kids, and event that helps children's cancer patients around the world. 

I also want to mention that this Yumyums car comes in two versions: grape and strawberry. It is a working race car with speed control and many options that make it perfect for racing. You could race it at Racer's Island if you wanted to. If you do, say hello to my friend Nella there. She's super fantastic and talented at racing!

Taisynn's Rambles

So, as you know, I started interacting on a social network called Plurk. I'd like to address some of the "concerns" people have been expressing about my blog.

First of all, Dolly Loli is short for Dolly Lolita. I thought it was cute and it rhymed. I have a short avatar, but she is realistic. I am a quarter Vietnamese in real life -- my father is half, born there, and my grandma is full. My grandfather married my grandmother after meeting her during the Vietnam War. We live a very mixed American-Asian household and lifestyle. My grandmother is 4 foot 3 in real life and almost 70 years old. Being short does not make me a child or a child avatar. 

Second, I adore all kinds of fashion types. My interests span the globe. I love primarily Dolly and Lolita fashions, but I am also inspired by mythology, tribalism, belly dancing, bollywood, and all things of things. What I will post or blog about will depend on my mood, and from what I have been told, dolls are not purely Asian, Caucasian, or limited to any type of ethnicity or race.

I believe in 100% disclosure on my blog. I post my page views every month and I also link to my sources, all tools I have used, and what groups I am affiliated with. I'm a fairly open book. This blog is not solely based for Second Life readers -- I also post my art on DeviantArt and I have a very small following of people who enjoy 3D art, roleplaying, and games. So some of my views come from other sources other than Second Life ones. 

Most of my views do come from Second Life, as this is a Second Life blog, but I share art and screenshots with a variety of other gaming groups. My life is not all based on Second Life. I also participate on Steam, Guild Wars 2, Elder Scrolls Online, and so many other games. Clearly some of my friends from those games would want to see why I disappear for days at a time. 

And I'd also like to state, Dolly Loli was my idea, and I own both the name and the pictures behind them. They are my intellectual property. All my images on Flickr and here are all rights reserved. So, before you think of stealing or reposting my images else where, please ask me first. It's just respectful to do so. You respect me, I'll respect you. Very simple.

There have been so many events this month. I admit I have been overwhelmed, especially since it in my real life mother's birthday this week. This week has been really, really busy for me. We finally got the land at the Harajuku-Lolita's Union, and it is really getting a great start for only being open for a few days. Though we only have a small homestead, a choice that was decided by a vote of our members, we're still very happy and we've had a very positive response from everyone. Many of the rentals went out in the first they opened up. I've been trying to keep up with the demand, but we have enough prims and space for everyone, thankfully enough, and I can set out more booths. The price for the booths is currently $50L a week for 15 prims. This really helps us out with the rent. 

There is also an event going on that is more important and more charitable than the Lolita's Union Shelter and Meeting Place. The Fashion for Life Charity Event goes from June 7th to June 20th and 100% of all the funds raised go to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Please think about taking some of your lindens there and helping out -- you'll not only get some really nice things, but you will be helping fight the fight against cancer. Even a mere one dollar can help out; even if you're poor on SL, think of at least donating two or three linden to those in need. If everyone on SL did that, that would be more than a million lindens going to this great cause. 

As for the Lolita's Union, I spent a long time decorating the place. Our new home is low poly, low impact mesh, letting us not only be lag free but it also allows us to keep a lot of prims open. We've had a really strong turn out of people hanging out at the Shelter for Cute Boys & Girls as well as participating in discussions in the outside hangout areas. Today they were discussing the E3 Super Smash Brother's Tournament, which was awesome to participate in. 

Thank you everyone for the support. The proceeds from the rentals and tips help us pay rent, furnish the place, and keep up with costs with search engine promotion. I'm telling you now, we are not profiting a dime from this; I even spent my $300L a week allowance towards getting a teaset for the union's tea parties. I'm so happy to do it though. We saw a need for a hangout and home for our cute lolita, harajuku, and cosplay friends, and we provided it. 

If you haven't joined already, the group is called the Harajuku-Lolita's Union. We are a small group of 147 people, but we are steadily growing, and the group is active with many happy participants in the group chat and at our discussions and mini-meets. It is free for kawaii, cute, lolita, and harajuku designers to advertise in and bloggers are allowed to link to their posts once a week in notices and once a day in group chat. This helps keep our community close and keeps us updated with all the cute stuff like Dolly Loli provides to you, my beloved readers.
